Abstract

The authors suggest using a concept of minimizing the empirical risk during the inversion of the vertical electrical sounding (VES) data. The assumption of equal probability of positive and negative noise in measuring signal is made. The noise distribution may significantly differ from normal distribution. The advantage of method is the ability of an approximate estimation of the accuracy of determining the geoelectric parameters of the section model. The appropriateness of using random search procedure in the calculation of the inverse problem is validated. The results of computational experiments confirmed the higher quality of the VES inverse problem solution using the proposed method in comparison with the traditional approach.
