About the Mechanism of Hydrophobization of Surface of Rock in Oil and Gas Reservoirs

Abstract

An influence of various factors of physical and chemical nature on the wettability of productive rock was analyzed based on a representative statistical data. Coagulation DLVO theory, based on the disjoining pressure arising in the thin layer of water, which shields the active components of the oil from the surface of minerals, was used to explain the experimental results. Stability of the film is dependent on the water sa-linity, pH value, and the specific activity of positive and negative ions.
